NOVA / Haydocy “Share the Dream” Rally – May 1-4

Do you remember when you first took the plunge to join in the Airstream dream? For many, it was a long-awaited vision that took years to realize, and for others it was an unexpected event that resulted in a sudden decision to give Airstreaming a try. Either way, embracing the Airstream dream is a big step up in the RV world, not just because of the iconic silver bullet camper, but also because of the unique fellowship of joining in the fun with thousands of other Airstreamers. An Airstream is not just an RV; it is a lifestyle!

Now NOVA members have the chance to share the dream with others at Haydocy Airstream & RV. What could be better than an iconic Airstream Rally held right on the lot of the newest Airstream Dealership on the planet and co-hosted by NOVA, the newest WBCCI unit? The purpose: To introduce future Airstreamers to the joys of our camping lifestyle. We all know that Airstream means instant access to the rally and caravan lifestyle, but many Airstream “wanna-bes” are not quite sure how all that works. We will show them how!

Haydocy Airstream in Columbus, Ohio has opened up the front lot for NOVA to showcase a rally with the intent of letting customers peek into our gathering to see first-hand what the Airstream Dream is all about. The potential is for Haydocy to garner sales . . . and for NOVA to recruit members. It is a win-win situation for Haydocy and NOVA. There is a lot of planning left to do before this event gears up, but we can tell you that Haydocy will be hosting a BBQ dinner for NOVA in their unique 1963 Land Yacht that has been newly outfitted with commercial grade smokers, grills and fryers!

Terry Baughman is heading up this effort for NOVA and Eric Davis is on board for Haydocy. Together they are laying the plans for this ambitious event to be held from May 1st – May 4th, 2014. 5th Annual Pointless Pursuit

Date: Sunday, September 8, 2013 – 12:00 to 5:00PM
Location: Throughout Columbus’ Unique Neighborhoods including Short North, Arena District, Downtown, Brewery District and German Village.

The Pointless Pursuit is a one day Amazing Race where teams of two run wild through the unique neighborhoods of Columbus solving crazy clues and competing in wacky challenges. Then, take part in our after party with games, prizes and food and drink specials.

At the starting line, teams are given a passport of 16 challenges. They must decipher the games, puzzles and riddles of each clue and then determine which 12 challenges they would like to complete. Strategy is key. Teams may walk, run or take public transportation. The challenges can be mental or physical, involve one or both teammates. Upon completion of each challenge, the teams get a sticker in their passport and can move on to another challenge. Once a team completes 12 challenges, they make their way to the finish line where we have an after party with games, prizes and food and drink specials.

Cost: $39 pp until August 31st; $45 pp until September 7th
